US Airways Flight 1549 Crashes into Hudson River

Rescue is in progress for what is said to be 146 passengers on an Airbus 320 flight heading from New York LaGuardia to Charlotte, NC.

The pilot was able to land the plane "gently" on the water after reports of a bird strike upon takeoff. Ferries in the area have responded as well as the US Coast Guard and NYC Fire Department. The plane crash landed around 3 PM.

Woman Struck and Killed by Metrolink

A 39-year-old woman was struck and killed by a Metrolink train on Saturday night. Although the woman’s identity has yet to be released, police say she was struck around 6:25 p.m. at the intersection of San Fernando Blvd. and Buena Vista St.
