Pet Food Recall Now Extends to Dry Food

You are probably well aware that there have been widespread feelings of panic among pet owners all across this country as a result of the huge pet food recall. Just when you might think things are under control to some small degree, the pet food recall has widened.

The Hills Pet Nutrition recalled Prescription Diet m/d Feline Dry food. DRY FOOD! Were we not just told that was safe to use. No wonder more and more people are beginning to make their pet's food at home rather than serve contaminated pet food to their innocent pet. Home cooked food should be safer, right (as long as it does not include salmonella-laden cantaloupe and/or peanut butter that was recalled several weeks ago).

According to a statement on the company's web site "Hill's is taking this precautionary action because during a two-month period in early 2007, wheat gluten for this product was provided by a company that also supplied wheat gluten to Menu Foods."
