In spite of the popularity of the Wii product by Nintendo, stories about braking Wii straps have been plentiful as of late. A suit filed in Texas alleges that the platform holder has violated the Washington Consumer Protection act.

It appears that Nintendo could be in trouble for claiming that the wrist strap was to prevent the controller from coming out of the users hand while in use. The suit further claims that the problems amount to a breach of warranty, and seeks to become a full class-action suit.

As a result of the widespread problem Nintendo announced a voluntary wrist strap replacement program.
