FDA Warns - Don't Eat the Tomatoes

You may have noticed warning's pertaining to unsafe tomatoes in restaurants and supermarkets. The notices are informing consumers about a salmonellosis outbreak, which has been linked to particular types of tomotoes such as raw red plum, red Roma, and red round tomatoes, in addition to any products that contain these raw, red tomatoes.

Not all tomatoes are affected. It has been deemed safe to continue to consume cherry tomatoes, grape tomatoes, and tomatoes sold with the vine still attached, or tomatoes grown at home. See the full article for states that are not associated with the salmonellosis outbreak.
