The Kansas roads may be safer if legislative proposals are successful. A citizen task force "The Driving Force" is pushing the proposals for safer driving.

The group has identified 11 major areas that affect driving safety. Some of the areas of concern include: novice drivers (primarily teenage drivers), impaired driving (driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol), distracted driving and emergency medical services.
